Different Kinds of Aerial Lift
Aerial lifts are a particular type of heavy machine that enables workers to be lifted into the air. These equipment could be utilized to carry out repairs and maintenance in areas which are high up in the air such as on roofs, near power lines and street-light fixtures. Similar to nearly all tools, there are various kinds of aerial lifts that could be used to carry out various jobs. For the utmost safety, every kind of different kind of machinery requires proper training and specific certification prior to utilizing it.

Scissor Lifts
Genie lifts are a different name for scissor lifts. These equipment are the most basic kind of aerial lift available. These lifts are made of a platform that is lifted up using pneumatic power and are mostly used for indoor applications. Typically, scissor lifts are the safest kind of lift models. When totally compressed, these scissor lifts can be driven like big carts. Generally, when the platform is extended, they could not be driven for safety reasons. Before anybody can utilize these devices, workers have to be certified as operators.

Boom Lifts
Compared to a scissor lift, boom lifts are a lot more complex pieces of aerial lift machine. A boom lift has a wide base in order to keep the lift anchored. It utilizes a jointed arm which has a bucket on the end of it. There is a control box located in the bucket that allows the operator to raise and lower the bucket. Because the arm of the boom is jointed, it can move from side to side as well. The boom lift resembles a metal scorpion's tail. Usually, it is used in construction applications outdoors. The boom lift is considered to be more risky to operate than scissor lifts, thus, operators should be licensed separately for these types of lifts.
